Overview Experience
Cohen & Lord's experience litigating cases for employers in state and federal court include: cases alleging wrongful termination, wrongful demotion, constructive termination, defamation, unfair competition, discrimination (age, gender, race, national origin, disability, leave status, etc.), harassment (sexual, racial, etc.), retaliation, failure to accommodate, violation of leave statutes, violation of wage and hour statutes, breach of contract and other torts (fraud, interference with contract/prospective business advantage, emotional distress, assault and battery).

The firm's attorneys have experience in trying cases to a jury verdict, arbitrating claims, mediating claims (actual and potential), petitioning for enforcement of arbitration agreements, defending class actions, defending employers in administrative proceedings initiated by state and federal governments, prosecuting claims for injunctive relief, and obtaining injunctions to prevent employee violence, handling cases on appeal and filing petitions for California Supreme Court review.
